New Industry Technology

Duxler of Glenview is dedicated to keeping its customers updated on the latest technology in the automotive industry.

Run Flat Technology

Many of today's vehicles are equipped with run flat tire technology. This feature allows the vehicle to be driven for 50 miles at speeds up to 50 mph with little or no air in the tire.

Only automotive shops with specialized equipment and trained technicians are certified to service these sophisticated tires. Duxler of Glenview is certified! Ask your Duxler representative for details.

TPMS - Tire Pressure Monitor System

By September of 2007, all new passenger and light truck vehicles will be equipped with this system as required by NHTSA (National Highway Traffic Safety Administration). 1If your vehicle is equipped with a TPMS, a warning light will flash on your dashboard when the tire is at least 25% over or under inflated. The TPMS light is activated by a computer sensor integrated with the tire valve stem.

Duxler of Glenview technicians have been trained and certified by TIA (Tire Industry Association) to service vehicles equipped with TPMS.

Please note that flat tires, tire rotations, and installation of new tires on vehicles equipped with TPMS will require more parts and labor and will result in an increased cost to perform these services.

Nitrogen Tire Inflation

For tire inflation, there's nothing better than nitrogen. Because of its larger molecule size, nitrogen escapes through a tire 3-4 times slower than oxygen. A tire filled with "plain old air" will lose 1.5 PSI in less than a month; with nitrogen, this could take 3-4 months longer. Nitrogen provides better maintenance of tire pressure which maximizes...

...and its better for the environment!
